Differing opinions!

Before i start, this is something related to my previous post on Kargil Vijayotsav. It just made me think on the aspect of how sensitive we, the youth of today are towards issues such as these. We like films based on these things, we like when our country wins a match and celebrate it, but then why do we give a deaf ear to the reality of the situations? When i hear someone saying that he/she doesn't even think on issues such as Kargil Vijayotsav, i didn't know what to feel for that! Should i feel sorry for them or i don't know if they feel sorry for me that i think on such things. It may be true that we might not be able to do anything just by talking, but if that urge is there inside to do some difference to the country, may be one day we also might get a chance, some way to do that. But then if the mentality itself is like, they are things of not our interest, what can be expected of such people?? Interests differ. I agree. But should it be to this extent that one doesn't care for what happens in his own country? And it leaves me wondering, what else would be their contribution to the country?

"Kargil Vijayotsav"

Hi everyone! I've been writing on my post titled 'my engineering course' since few days. Don't worry it'l run into pages for i've soo many things to say :P Before that, i wanted to write something else. I've been watching the "Kargil Vijayotsav" programmes on TV these days. I've always respected the words of our late prime minister Lal Bahaddur Shastri, "Jai Jawan Jai Kisan". Me coming from a family of farmers, i feel so proud of that. Many a time felt like how can i be a part of our Indian Military Force. I remember to this day, the time when India won the Kargil War. I was in 6th std then(i think so!). We used to watch a TV programme during post war days then in which each episode was the story of a soldier who died on the battle field. Although my hindi is not that good, but then i had tried my best to understand and explain my mother as well. At that time, the whole nation was proud of the soldiers who brought the victory for us. We are and we SHOULD be proud of them. But... is it enough if we appreciate them and feel proud of them? I've been watching the TV programmes now also. After 10 years, something that has remained the same is the situation of their families who died for our nation. For some, nothing has changed. Whenever a sportsperson performs better , our govts announce lakhs and sometimes crores of rupess to reward them.To some of them, that amount of money would mean nothing. But still we give, the govts give. Why not to these soldiers ? their families who need it the most. Their children, who at some point of time then can proudly tell that they are the children of such a soldier. One more thing which comes to my mind everytime is the plight of the farmers in our country. It's needless to explain things for the suicides say it all. If this is the situation of those who feed and protect our country, how do we rate ourselves???? Why not do something to improve the situation of their families? I don't know how i sound raising questions everytime. But i would like to mention i'm keen on finding an answer also.... Atleast to things like these..:)
