My unanswered questions....

After a peaceful sleep last night, I got up this morning just to find one more day for myself amidst so many of others. With the thoughts of incomplete works of yesterday’s already assailing my mind, I started my day with the newspaper. I’ve always wondered why do we read newspapers..Is it because we want to stay connected with the world around us or because we’re concerned for those around us or for we have something useful for us or for that harbinger which occupies our mind the whole day only to find that rarely some things happen that way without finally knowing whether it was predetermined or was it a coincidence???? Don’t know..but still we read newspapers, if not all, at the least, majority of us… There begins my list of questions..
Change is a way of life” is an aphorism..But I was never bothered with that. What I always looked for was whether that change is inherent or driven by situations or escapism or an inevitable one….! Why not people stick to what they say, what makes them change their words? When ever they say something, do they tell it just like that? Will not be there a before thought while wording their thoughts? If someone sticks to things, is it like, does that mean, he/she is one antediluvian? Is there no room for them in the modern, fast changing world??? Or to some, they might seem asinine also…. But for me, it’s remained an unanswered question …… Of course, I believe, things ought to change, for today is not the same as yesterday and definitely tomorrow will not be the same as today….But still……………..Words, if at all they carry some weightage, some gravity, why not people stick to what they say???…….!!
The other day, I was watching a science documentary on ancient discoveries…it was an excavation report on one of the ancient cities. The archaeologists had found out that many things which we boast of as 21st century achievements were there in existence hundreds of years back. Then, what’s that we’ve achieved?? We’re not sure if we’ve lessened the pains or human sufferings with what ever we’ve discovered or invented but definitely added to those few which were there already…..
Coming to our own lives…the very simple but the most memorable of all, the student life… Exams and studies occupying our mind for most of the time, what’s it that we’re going to learn out of it? Of course, we are towards earning our livelihood. But do we really have a chance to retrospect ourselves and atone when and where it’s required?
What does being smart mean? Some one told, telling truth is the easiest thing, but it requires great amount of intelligence to tell a lie….! Then is intelligence all about telling lies? But whether we say it or not, it remains a truth always……Time never changes it… So, why not tell something the way it is…after all, it makes life simpler…. To some like me, it’ll make look askance at everyone around us at times at our own selves…
Recognition, credit to our work, name and fame…..these things preoccupy us with each one of our works. May be without these things, none of us would’ve done anything… By hook or crook, we want it…but then, do we ever take a chance to look behind and see, whatever we’ve got, are we worthy of it, do we deserve it or have we grabbed something what others deserved?????
What’s it that differentiates ego and self prestige? As i’ve seen people rarely apologise for what they do. Sometime due to ignorance but many a time because they just don’t care to. If the person at the receiving end is also like him/her, never mind. But what if he/she is a sensitive creature? Again, being sensitive has lost meaning in today’s world. If you’re to be in this society, you just got to be insensitive. That has become the way of life. Insensitive to everything and everybody.
How far is our personality dependent on others?? Whenever someone accepts us, appreciates us, we feel happy. At the same time, if you face ignorance , one is ought to feel bad. Who is supposed to control us? We ourselves or others?
What does being modern mean actually? Is it the way you dress, you talk , to what extent you’re sociable with people. What determines it??? Or is it the way you think??? I’ve never been able to understand. If one is principled and sticks to his/her principles, you may not be new to comments like, you are the old type. Not modern!! What wrong does it make if you’re principled? What has that got to do with modernity?
Why is it that everyone doesn’t get what they want and what they like??? Is it because they don’t deserve it?? How do you determine then if one deserves it or not?
